Patient Security

Please be sure to limit the amount of personal belongings you have at your bedside. Patients are encouraged to leave all personal belongings at home, whether of monetary or sentimental value, or send these items home upon admission. We ask that you secure all cash, jewelry and other items of value in the hospital safe.

For your safety, we also ask that you send all prescription and over-the-counter medications home or secure them in the hospital safe. If you choose to keep any possessions (dentures, eyeglasses, jewelry, or money) at your bedside, a record of those items must be made and you keep them at your own risk. Please notify your nurse that you have them on admission or if your family brings additional items to you while you are in the hospital.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding securing valuables please discuss with your nurse.
