Television and Telephone Services

Public telephones are located in the main lobbies.  Raritan Bay Medical Center’s telephone and television service provides fast, convenient sign up that is easy to use, while providing substantial cost savings for patients.

Patient rooms throughout RBMC are equipped with private telephones and color television sets. Television coverage includes regional television programming and a selection of premium programming channels. Telephone and television service is available with activation and per-day fees. Service includes unlimited local calls plus local and cable TV channels.

Channels 3 and 6 on your television are provided by Raritan Bay Medical Center and include content about RBMC and healthcare information. Channel 4 is the InTouch network. InTouch provides hour-long readings from national newspapers and magazines, keeping patients current on world events and local news. InTouch offers something in the course of the broadcast day that appeals to everyone’s preferences.

Dial extension 6100 to speak with an operator who will walk you through the simple activation process. Simply provide your home telephone number or a major credit card (Visa, Master Card or American Express) and service is activated within minutes.

To Make a Call

To make a call within the 732 or 848 area codes, dial “9″ + the ten digit number you wish to reach. All other calls, dial “9″ + 1 + the ten digit number.

A Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD) is available from the nursing service department. All televisions offer closed caption viewing. Notify your nurse to activate the closed caption function on your television. Amplifier phones are also available. For billing assistance, to request telephone/television services or for television maintenance or equipment concerns, please dial ext. 6100. Otherwise, follow the instructions on your TV or ask your nurse for assistance.
