Raritan Bay Medical Center is delighted to welcome a new practice to its growing network of premier health care providers. Bay Family Medicine opened in Old Bridge and provides families with a comprehensive resource for their primary care needs.
The practice is under the expert direction of three board- certified family medicine physicians, two of whom have served the community for more than 20 years: Betty Hammond, MD, MPH, Paula Krauser, MD, MA, and Sandra Arango-Fahmy, DO.
“Family medicine physicians are unique because we take care of the whole family and often follow them throughout their entire lives,” explains Dr. Hammond. “Children do not have to change doctors when they reach adulthood and women do not need to see multiple physicians for their health needs.”
“We also take a special interest in treating our patients holistically, rather than treating a particular disease or injury,” says Dr. Krauser. Contrary to other specialties, family medicine physicians are trained and experienced in a broad range of disciplines, enabling them to diagnose and treat most of their patient’s illnesses and medical conditions, including chronic diseases such as asthma, diabetes and hypertension.

Offering a wide spectrum of high-quality services, Bay Family Medicine accommodates pediatric sick and wellness visits, adult physicals and gynecological exams. The office also provides immunizations and a full range of health screenings, from electrocardiograms to Pap smears. Furthermore, the facility is equipped with a state-of-the- art laboratory that can expediently process throat cultures, standard blood work and other important tests as well as a procedures room for minor surgeries and other treatments.
Above all, family medical physicians are valued because they provide an extraordinary level of personalized care that comes with a lifetime commitment. Adds Dr. Krauser, “We are truly dedicated to our patients and their families, developing relationships that last for decades and often generations.”
The practice accepts most major health plans and is open weekdays with early morning and evening appointments, though physicians are always on-call for emergencies. |
