 Outpatient Laboratory Services
The Raritan Bay Medical Center Laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists, and offers a full range of outpatient laboratory testing in the areas of Blood Chemistry, Immunology, Hematology, Microbiology, and Pre-Natal Blood Testing. The laboratory is open from 7AM until 8PM Monday through Friday and 8AM to 4PM on weekends and holidays.
Most tests may be performed without an appointment, but some do require an appointment (e.g., Glucose Tolerance Test) or an overnight fast (e.g., Lipid Panel). For information call:

 Tests involving direct physician-patient interaction (ie. Schilling Test for Vitamin B12 absorption, Blood Volume test, and Capillary Bleeding Times) are performed Monday through Friday, by appointment only. For information and an appointment call: (732) 324-5171
Outpatient blood transfusions are provided by the blood bank through the Medical Day Stay unit. For information and an appointment, call Central Scheduling at: (732) 324-5380.
A physician's written order is required for all testing.
