Annual Harbor Lights Ball, Benefiting Raritan Bay Medical Center, Sets Attendance Record -Five Awards Were Bestowed For Charitable Achievements-
PERTH AMBOY, NJ, October 8, 2012… More than 370 guests, a record number for the event, visited the ‘Circus’ at Raritan Bay Medical Center Foundation’s largest fundraiser the 28thAnnual Harbor Lights Ball: Cirque du Santé September 29. The event raised nearly $280,000 in revenue, with net proceeds to benefit the medical center’s Broadening Our Vision, Securing Our Future growth and renewal plan, designed to expand available patient services and upgrade and enhance medical center facilities.
During the evening five awards were presented recognizing dedication and philanthropic commitment to Raritan Bay Medical Center (RBMC) and the surrounding communities. The 2012 honorees are: Humanitarian Award – Gregory M. Ficarra, Woodbridge Township Council president and former director of health, physical education, nursing & athletics, Perth Amboy public school system; Executive of the Year Award – Deborah L. Tripod, president of Englert, Inc.; Excellence in Healthcare Award – Dr. Mark L. Niemiera, a prominent physician at RBMC; Norman Tanzman Award – John and Carol Hila of Woodbridge; and Future Leader Award – Vanessa E. Mendez, director of strategic initiatives at Tropical Cheese Industries.
The black-tie ball, held at the Renaissance Woodbridge Hotel, celebrated the theme Cirque du Santé with music by Tim McLoone and the Shirleys, live cirque performers by Shore Circus, grand silent auction, lavish food and cash raffle. Among the attendees were physicians, corporate executives and political dignitaries representing the 19th Legislative District.
Kally and Bob Durso, from JJ Elek Realty in Woodbridge, NJ, Rozalia Czaban and her husband Joe Britton served as chairs and led the Foundation’s event planning committee. Nancy Barone, executive vice president, RBMC Foundation said, “Every year we reach new heights with this event and this year was tremendous.”
