The Medical Day Stay Unit provides an alternative to traditional inpatient treatment. The Unit is specially designed to care for individuals who need therapeutic regimens, but don’t necessarily need to receive treatment as an inpatient.
Most common treatments include:
Infusions for Rheumatoid Arthritis
Immune Globulin Infusions
Please note: This is only a partial list of treatments that are available.
Comfort and Convenience
The Medical Day Stay Unit offers its services 7 days a week. It was designed with comfort and convenience in mind allowing patients to receive the high level of care they have come to recognize, while maintaining their lifestyle at home with family and friends. The treatment area is warm and welcoming and rooms contain personal television sets.
During treatment, a family member or friend may stay with the patient or wait in the reception area. With patient permission, they also may call and receive an update and notification of when the patient’s appointment may be ending.
Our services are available upon discharge from the hospital or as a regular outpatient. The physician can call in orders over the phone or via fax and must have privileges at Raritan Bay Medical Center.
Once a physician has ordered treatment, appointments can be made directly with the Medical Day Stay Unit, either in Perth Amboy or Old Bridge. When scheduling your appointment, the nurse will take into consideration the patients individual needs and circumstances. Appointments are available 7 days a week.
Patients are asked to arrange their own transportation to/from their appointments.
At the initial visit and for any future visits, patients may proceed directly to the Medical Day Stay Unit for both registration and treatment. At the initial visit, patients should bring the following:
List of all medications you are currently taking
Doctor’s prescription (if available)
For your convenience, appointments are available 7 days a week at both locations.
