Thanks to the Hope Autism Solutions program, recently launched in Woodbridge, and Raritan Bay Medical Center Perth Amboy, autistic adults now have an opportunity to volunteer at the hospital. NJTV spent time shadowing program participant Thomas Barnett as he received volunteer and food service training at Raritan Bay as part of NJTV’s coverage of the launch of the new program. Raritan Bay’s volunteer services department also partners with the New Roads School in Parlin to allow adolescents and young adults with disabilities to volunteer.
