Raritan Bay Medical Center – Perth Amboy’s parking deck (located on New Brunswick Avenue) will be closed for approximately 20 minutes Wednesday, June 21, between 3:30 p.m. and 4:15 p.m., as the funeral procession for Perth Amboy Fire Department Chief Abe Pitre passes down New Brunswick Ave.
Due to the positioning of the fire department’s ladder trucks, New Brunswick Avenue will be closed in both directions and Groom Street, where the hospital’s main entrance is located, will be closed to northbound traffic at 1:00 p.m. Valet parking will remain available for patients and guests at the main entrance during this time.
The parking deck will only be accessible to patients and guests from the east (from the city, the opposite direction from Route 35/Convery Blvd.). Anyone leaving the parking deck will have to turn left onto New Brunswick Ave., also beginning at 1:00 p.m.
The Perth Amboy Police Department will be stationed near the hospital to direct traffic and allow access to the parking deck.
